Help me get my 6500's to fit!

So my 6500's are too deep to fit in stock location in my rx-7 so I've decided to make some door pods. Check out my cardomain page

and look at the pictures of the door panels and let me know how you think I should design it. I want to make it look as stock as possible and hopefully not damage the door or take up much leg space in the actual car.

couldnt you just make a little spacer to get you some more depth or is the panel to close to the door

if it was me i wouldnt want to touch a beautiful car like that

i would probably go with some kick panels so you dont have to modify the door panel.

Even with spacers, it is still too deep, the speaker is 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the door panel (it is slanted on the door panel) so that won't work that's the reason why I have to pod.

Kick panels are not in the question, not enough room, I will definatly kick it

Can you use two 3/4 inch mdf rings? You could do this and remove the grill on the door panel and create your own grill. Take another MDF ring on the outside of the door panel and cover it with vinyl that matches and use a regular 6.5 grill. This would take alot of time but could be done. Is it a depth issue or a width issue........"thats what she said" but seriously which one?

so you dont want to loose leg room to kickpanels, and you dont want to damage your door panels, and you cant just make a spacer...maybe different comps?

Nah I wanna keep these speakers, I can do a door pod and I'm sure I won't lose that much room since they will be with the door, just don't know how I'd attatch it to the door and make it look good at the same time.
