Help me find a shorted wire - DMM help needed

I have a short somewhere and have a few questions about fixing it.

The symptoms - The tailight/instrument panel fuse keeps blowing and I don't know what the problem is exactly. I figure it's a short somewhere, but I need help finding it. I have a DMM, but I don't know how to use it really.

The fuse blows as soon as I turn the key "ON". So that means that the short is somewhere on the other side of the fuse, as in after the fuse, correct?

How do I find it? I was thinking that I should test each power wire for continuity and that would work, since if the wire was grounded somewhere it would read zero right?

Is this the right way to find the problem?

Found the **** problem.

After a couple hours of tearing up my car to track the wires I finally stumbled on a post by a guy who was having similar problems. It ended up being a problem with the HU's illumination wire not being hooked up at all. The last HU that I had wasn't hooked up so I didn't hook this one up either, my bad.

On the bright side, now that my rear quarter panels are off I can easily run the wire for the rear speakers that I have been sleeping on. I'll finally have some rear fill //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif
