Please help me design box for 9512e.i want it loud and low.will be feeding 2000rms @ 4 or 2ohm.

here is what i have done some help from DD website.

Box dimensions:

14"H X 28"W X 18"D=5433 /1728=3.14 cubic feet volum of box

After calculating subwoofer, port, mdf and bracing displacement i get

2.5cft Net Internal volume.

I want the sub to be tuned at 33hz so after putting values here

http://www.mobileinformationlabs.com/HowTo-1Woofer-Box-CAL%20Port%20lenth%201.htm

I am getiing 14.2 inches port length if port width is 1.5inch.

I got 19.6in port length if port width is 2inch.

I got 25in port length if port width 2.5 inch.

Now i want to ask if these calcaulations are ok.

Is it good to bend the port wall?

What if i take width of port 1.5inch then i dont have to bend the port wall?

I would update the pics as it progress.Just making sure if iam going right direction.

share your ideas,views etc

cheers

so is 2inch wide port enough
You need between 12-16 square inches of ports for every cubic foot of volume.

With a 2" wide port, you will have 28 square inches, which isn't enough for that box.

By the way, you know those measurements you gave are internal right. When you calculate volume, you have to use internal dimensions. It's kinda tough with the ported boxes. If you need some help PM me.

As far as DD subs you would want to go off of there box calculator off there website there subs like to be tuned to 40 HZ and trust me it will still hit the low notes like you would expect out of a box tuned lower. For a 12 normally I would do between 1.75-2.25 for a daily box but I know with DD they recommend alil bigger but I have seen people use smaller and also work well for them.

Am i going right way.the net internal volume of the box now.

W 25.2" x 12.4" x 16.8"=5248cinches/1728= 3cuft

now what DD says to multiply volume by 0.88 which accounts for sub and port displacement.

3 x 0.88= 2.7c^ft is Net Internal volume.

Making port 2.5" wider and 19" longer(port has to bend coz the depth) is giving tuning of 35hz.

does it sound ok.

I am also trying to make 45angle at two back corners which i dont know how.let me know how can i do that.

its still incomplete but pics are up.it will be finalized tommoro.

Sides are little bigger and have to be cutted. Thanks to wood warehouse they only have sacle in mm or cm and i had calculations in inches.

my cell takes great pics.thanks to nokia e65
