i bought a 1995 camry, when i got it it had sony xplod 6x9's in the back and sony 6.5's in the front. (i know they **** you dont have to tell me lol). Anyway laying around our house we had some cerwin vega 3 way 6x9's and some older yamaha 2 way 6x9s. They both sounded better than the sonys but the yamaha's had a little better tweeters. Those yamahas are at least 15 years old and sound good but i figured most new name brand speakers would be much better. So i have been looking on ebay and found a few different setups. Let me know what would be the best. Im open to any other options for around 150 for both the front and the rear. These are going to be hooked up to a blaupuckt deck with 23w rms.

What i am deciding between now is

-rockford fosgate prime series 6x9 and 6.5.

-same as above but with amp

-eclipse se6900 6x9's and not what i would use for front

i dont have a picture of the front of the yamaha's because they are already in my car but they are 2 way with paper cones and sound pretty good especially for being 15 years old.

fosgates are junk ,the eclipse out of business, but i'd get these before the fosgates.if in terested i have some bravox brazil made 6.5 frts 2 way and 6x9s rear also 2 waysq speakers very nice sound i'd sell for 125 shipped for all 4 and they are brand new

i know those 3 bold words at the bottom of the yamaha label are why they are so good and have lasted so long. Is there any reasonably priced made in japan speakers out there?

i know lol, and even though no one will probably believe me, they sound great. The yamahas that is. The cerwins dont have very good highs but have lots of bass.

how about some mb quart ONX169 6x9s for the back and mb quart ONX116 6.5's for the front?

mb quart makes good amps on a budget, but I wouldn't recomend their speakers to anyone unless they were old ones before maxsonics bought them.

I would get the boston acoustic s-65 6.5 coaxials up front and the s-95 6x9 for the rear. Thes would sound great if your just planning on running of headunit power.

i most likley will go with the bostons you recommended but would there be a better choice now that i will be amping the rear speakers?

If you are planning on amping some , why wouldn't you amp the front or amp all 4? I dont know about the nakamichi speakers only their hu and amps. The new alpine sound pretty good, but you could get better for the price of the alpine or the infinity. The Image dynamics are at a good price right now .
