Help me decide Eclipse CD7200mk2 or 3200

the 9887 can be used with alpines kce-300bt bluetooth adapter. alpines bluetooth isn't bad at all...i haven't used their new adapter, but the old one worked pretty well..can't vouch for the eclipse or pioneer bluetooth capabilities though..you'll also need the HD tuner for the 9887, but HD radio isn't really worth it yet imo.

So with the alpine unit the name and adress book information shows up on the screen as well as allows you to voice dial etc?

As far as HD radio I wanted to try it out, I heard there's quite a few stations around here, plus I dont plan on ever upgrading the unit unless it gets stolen again.

The KCE-300bt is GOD AWFUL. Do not get it. Can you say ECHO? Even with a new mic, ECHO ECHO ECHO ECHO. Even with a customized mic, ECHO ECHO ECHO!!

Well I think pretty much all bluetooth sucks, I only want it because its going to be the law here and I's not wortht he $500 ticket to not use a hands free setup. Wires probably works better, but it's not like im going to bust that crap out every time I get in my truck. However the additional $220 for BT, + aditional cost of HD...well its adding up pretty quickly. Not only that but I have no clue where I would mount all this stuff, I don't really want to mount a bunch of adapter boxes under my seat and thats the only place left to mount anything in my vehicle.

Old one was fine, new one which is old now is garbage.

The CD3200 bt isn't bad, have not heard any complaints from callers about it.

I just looked up the add in HD radio unit for the eclipse (Bluetooth is built in), its $400! **** maybe 2 add ins for alpine isnt so bad...However it is more stuff I will need to mount someplace, maybe the glove box or something I dunno....

Good news, Insurance approved my list price for the Eclipse CD5444, so I have $440 towards a new unit.

I take back what I said about the pioneer, all these units you have to use add ons for. Really digging the style of the FH-P800BT http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Source/CD-Players/Premier/FH-P800BT?tab=B I just wish it was detachable face, and I'm not sure if it will sound as clean as the eclipse with it's 8V 55ohm preouts.

Currently I'm still leaning toards the Eclipse 7200MKII I told the guy to order it and I'm waiting for him to call me back and tell me it is backordered lol.

Since you're not using aux inputs, you can hit the "source" button.

Well they called me and told me the HU is on backorder so in the meantime I just wont drive my truck I guess. They said end of month or sooner but from reading the boards I'll just hope they get something in by the end of summer.

I've had a 7200 on order for 2 months now. They (Eclipse) have said the end of the month or sooner for 2 months now. At this point I'm hoping to get it before fall.

~Side note~ I went into Sound Advice a few days ago hoping to check out an 800prs or 9887, which they didn't have, and the guy said he heard the 7200's won't be out until September.... that would ****, but I think he was just trying to sell me on something else.

Yea, hopefully insurance does not force me to buy something else I'll wait as long as it takes!

I cant afford to drive the truck anymore though anyways, I espimated my anual fuel cost at $4.30 a gallon and it's almsot 13,000 a year just for gas vs the 6k it has been costing me which was already ridiculous.

Unfortunately/Fortunately my other ride is just a geo metro, with anual fule cost of about $1200

It has stock .5 watt speakers or whatever and FM radio. So I need to do something about this soon I'm going nuts!
