i emailed the 2nd link, " Here is an older Alpine deck that has barely been used, and is in pristine condition. This is from back when Alpine made the ultimate SQ/tuner decks. You can see I responded in the forum and actually wanted to pick it up Great signal/noise ration, 3 sets of strong pre-outs, CD player, digital time alignment, AUX input but no usb. This is an absolute beast and you can't go wrong with this one, especially at the price! Oh, and the seller is a good guy too, I've talked to him a few times: Car Audio Classifieds "

And yea, you still need both the items I linked from Amazon.

Options instead of the Obsidian... If you're trying to stay in the same quality/price bracket, I'd go with the b-stock SA-15 from: Used, B-Stock, Refurbished Amps, and MISC - SSA Car Audio Forum

And since they're only available in D4, you'd have to get the MB Quart 1500.

also a few of the head units ( both.. ) of the ones i have looked at don't have the front aux in, so can i likeee errmmm.. wire it through somehow so i can use it while driving?

also a factor i am missing - Do sa-15's or sa -12's require a separate battery

Size of sub/s or quantity do not determine whether or not you will need another/bigger battery, but the amp/s that is/are powering the sub/s does/will.

win and bid on this jbl 14001, then run your amp at 4 ohm. at 4 ohm this bad boy puts out 1200rms. it also makes the distortion level go to THD 0.05% (rated power at 4 ohms) and amps are most efficient at 4 ohm usually in the 80 to 90 percent range on class d. so your alternator will be much happier and no electrical will need to be done. where as if u run at 1 ohm efficiency usually goes down to 70 percent and its going to want more power.

I have a old school fosgate 1500 sitting in front of me

at 1 ohm its 63 percent effecient

at 4 ohm its 86 percent

Can I run 4 ohms on a 2 ohm sub ? I thought I needed 1 ohmishhhh

nope u can run 1 ohm or 4 ohm on a dual 2 ohm sub. 2ohm coils wired in parallel equal 1 ohm. 2 ohm coils wired in series give you 4 ohm. 4 ohm will be nicer on your system and its a much better amp then mb quart. its direct from jbl and they always sell for around 175 with 8 bucks shipping. its an amazing amp really
