Help me choose between these...

These all fall within my price range.... so which do you guys think is my best choice if I'm looking for great SQ? The reason I'm asking is because I heard that certain makes are having problems this year with specific things... (noises and such).

I'm a pioneer premier fan now, if that helps at all. I have no experience with any of them except for brand names alone, I heard great things from all your options there. If you do decide to buy one, write a review and let us know how it goes lol.

I too, vote for the premier. I have a DEH-P3600, a pioneer low-end unit, and its been working well for me for over a year.

Had a premier 470 in the woman's car for a little while, but I switched it out with a JVC kd-sh707. It's a nice HU, not as many options as some other though. Might get more out of the excelon.

ok so i narrowed it down to the premier 470 and the excelon 589. i really dont know anything about car audio... but i always hear people talking about preamp outputs.. so im guessin thats a main factor.. and the excelon has higher ones. also, i compared the msrp and the kenwood one was way higher, i dunno if im bein dumb by takin that into consideration.

anyways, what makes 1 better than the other? both seem to pretty much have the same kinda features. all it really comes down to is better SQ... which 1 has better clarity?????

You're going to have to hear each one to figure out which you like better I think. There's only so much specs and features can tell you. That 24-bit DAC is nice, but a well designed 1-bit DAC can sound better than a poorly made 24-bit(not saying the kenwood is poorly designed, I love mine even with the mask feature).

i see... so what about the preamp outputs? higher V = good? lol i dunno anything bout this stuff. i also cant find any info on whether or not the kenwood is ipod ready... the pioneer is 20 bux cheaper but i think its ipod ready. this stuff is confusing.

doesnt matter what you buy, after you have you will see something better , its just the way things are, same with computers cars houses food etc etc

You can hook an ipod to the kenwood. You have to buy an adapter like alpine's aux-in adapter.
