I installed the RL-P Dual 2 ohm today in my car, running off of a Nine.1 amplifier. I noticed two very strange things.

1. I have the Amp gain on 60% right now, and the sub sounds loud, but it sounds a little louder than my old 250 watt sub/amp combo, definately doesn't sound anywhere near close to 1200 watts. Also, if i turn the Gain down lower than 50%, you literally cannot hear the sub.

2 If i make the sub really really loud with the HU volume, it sounds like it is bottoming out and makes a horrible noise.

I had a JL amp and Infinity sub, and all i did was unplug the old stuff and plug in the new stuff, and now i am having all of these problems!! Also, my car volt meter says the voltage is staying around 13.-13.5 so i really am clueless. Please help!!!

The amp is running at 1ohm and is putting out over 1200 watts, and i can't believe that unless i have the gain more than halfway up, you can't even hear the sub in the car. What the hell is going on here!

do you have it wires in serries or parallell? and do you have your Hus configurations set right?
parallel. All 4 inputs on the sub have wires going to them, and i have 2 inputs going to the amp. HU is set perfectly. Bass Boost on Amp is off, and the Gain is on 60%, if i set the gain lower than that i barely can hear the sub.

Also, i have a Nine.2 in my car as well.

you didnt wire the coils out of phase did you?

Nah, i even switched around all of the positives and negatives on the sub and the problem still remained. I know something is wrong because there is no way in hell thats normal for this sub to be unaudible with this amp at anything less than half gain, which right now it is.

What kind of box is it in?

1.03 CuFt sealed box. I had an Infinity Perfect and a JL Audio 250/1 before this, and both of them were always fine. But then when i just switched them out, im having all of these problems.

Im about ready to bring it to an Audio Shop and have them check my wiring since i am all out of ideas now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

did the samething the other day on an install, had me scratching my head for a few minutes. lol
Turned out to be that the lpf on the amp is ALL THE WAY DOWN! Had to crank it. lol

Well, mines definately set right, so thats not the problem. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

What about your subsonic, whats that set at?... If nothing is wrong with your install, I would try to find another amp to try the sub with. If its the same thing, call Sound Splinter. If its fine, the call then call eD about the amp.
