This is some funny stuff. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif

No, im not against getting a box (even though i have no idea how to build a box nor the carpentry skills, nor do i wanna drop hundreds on getting one built) but i honestly don't know if even then this sub will have the SPL i am looking for.
Dude I was never in wood shop class and all that, never ever messed with wood until I built my first box. It just seems kinda scary //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Have someone design a box. There are many guides online to help assist you in it. BTW this winter it was too cold to build a box outside so I had a shop here do it. I show up to find a blown XXX. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif . Sounds likes the guys in your area aren't much better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. Btw I saw your post on the multi meter. Did you measure the amps output on the speaker terminals(proper gain setting), as well as check the rca voltage to make sure its sending a proper signal?

edit just saw the latest post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif . Yes hundreth is absolutely right. Its definately a new box you need. You should really pay attention to how you explain something. Shitty low end is way different than no sound at all.

No, all we did was hook the volt-meter up to the speaker terminals. And I have absolutely clue how to build a box nor time to start a big project. Also, my car is a 1998 ***** Am, i have literally no trunk, my 1 cube box barely fits in it. The only thing i can fit in the trunk is a flat and long box.

And even if I upgrade the box, is this sub gonna be on the brink of death off all the time at 1200 watts? I upgrading from the perfect with the sole intention of running a high powered sub, not running one at 500 watts.

Tommorow i am gonna rewire the power wire to the battery and set the gains. Then i will decide if i am either gonna A) get a new sub B) get a new box or C) do both.

I was also told by tons of people on various sound boards that this sub although would not be ideal in a small enclosure, it will perform well enough since i am sending it so much power. Being sent 1200 watts but having no more SPL than a 250 watt baby Infinity sub doesn't sound too "well" to me, it sounds like this sub will NOT PERFORM AT ALL in a small sealed box, i wish people would have told me this befoer hand.

HERE IS THE THING THAT IS THROWING ME OFF!!

You guys say the enclosure is too small, so why is the sub moving so much that it looks like its gonna break? It moves so much, that on hard bass hits it completely bottoms out. It moves so much that it was hitting some plastic trim peice in my trunk that is almost half a foot away.

excursion has nothing to do with box size. The sub will move regardless. Change your box, its cheaper than gettting a new sub.

You have good equipment and lots of potential, you just need to get past whatever is creating this problem.

Well my trunk has very weird size to it, its extremely small and doesn't even have a flat surface to put a box on, right now my box is just wedged in between two peices and is floating.

try to find something that would work or see if you can get a box made for TA/cameros. Hell even see if you can find a pre fab that would fit.

Sealed boxes are easy to make, get the dimensions of your trunk and someone can easily design a box.

No way in hell im gonna make a sealed box if I am gonna have to make a new one, that would be pretty stupid. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif What I do not understand is why does SoundSplinter say on their website that for a system over 600 watts they reccomend 1.0 cuft or less for a sealed box? The sub clearly cannot perform even close to what it should be, why reccomend it then? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

i think u have shitty install, and even shittier settings on your amp. no pun intended but rip it outand start over. i have the same **** setup in a trunk car and at times, cant stand to listen to it. it moves air quite nicely..in fact moves my hair a tad. mine is a 15 in 1.4 cubes....ur 12 wont be quite as loud but it is a **** GOOD sub. redo ur full install and see what happens....check your box for leaks..i swear i gaind 5 db just siliconing my box.

Dont roll eyes, you will start annoying people, then they wont care.

Why? Easy, different people have different tastes in music. Just becaue you dont like it dosnt mean the next person wont.

But what you are looking for is not going to be obtained with your current box. I thought you had 1cuft net, I was wrong. You need around 1.25net which will put the box around ~1.45ish gross. Do this and get the wiring fixed and get your HU and amp set properly and you should be good to go.

Lots of people use this woofer with outstanding results, something is wrong with the install, not the woofer.

Mine moves my hair as well, but i was expecting it to hit so hard i could feel it all around my head, which it does not.

What should i check specifically with the wiring? And I don't mean to offend anyone, i am just very upset and frusterated. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I want insane SPL and good SQ, so maybe i do need to go ported then.
