Hi all

Did a really silly thing and connected my car battery up the wrong way round(crossed + and -) for a split second

Since then the radio hasn't worked so I took it out and checked the fuse which was blow, replaced and managed to get the display to light up and everthing looks normal, but there's no sound from the unit and and it doesn't see the CD changer.

So I think it looks likley I've blown the outputs on my Becker 6019 Audio 10, does this seem right or have I blown all the speakers up in the car as well.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The changer spits out the disk holder when I press the eject button so I'm hoping its ok, but have I damaged this too?

Cheers for the help

I have a wonderful suggestion. Find the lil reset button somewhere on the face of the HU and give it a push or two. Your radio may be toast but what the heck? Give the reset a shot. Ya never know!!!!

It's a standard Merc set up, which is

Becker 6019 HU(no reset button)

Changer unit

I think the speakers are powered off the HU, but it's also got a Fibre Optic connection too

i helped my buddy jump start his car the other day... he connected the terminals wrong with the jumpers for about 20 secs of pulling power from my car.. i went to grab the jumpers... dam near burnt my hand.. would have if i didnt let go IMMEDIATELY!

I have a set of jumper cables that are idiot proof ...you just hook them up...no need in looking at the post....but most people don't spend $100 a set for jumper cables....
