Help! Its sounds like crap!

Bought 2 Pioneer 10" subs rated at 350Watts RMS for $97.00 and am sending them 500 watts with a RF P6002. I thought it was the thunderform enclosure so I built a 2 Cu Ft box and they sound the same. Basicely I have about $97.00 worth of Bass. You get what you pay for.

I want to keep and use the P6002 so I need 2 good 10" Subs that will wire together at 4 Ohms and will sound good at 500Watts.

Oh Yea all I listen to is RAP!

I dont get the deep thumping Bass I expected. There are some songs that sound awesome. A lot of Slim Thug stuff is great but other songs just give me more of a thumping sound. I have tried the crossover on both the HU and Amp to get different sounds but its just not what I expected. The subs have thick foam surrounds and I dont think am getting the sound I want.

Are you thinking I need to go ported? Are you implying that buying better more than $97 a pair Subs wont help?

Whats the bottom line Guys, If you honestly think I am going down the wrong path then speak up. I cant afford 1200X1 right now so if thats the answer then I guess Ill live with what I have for now.

Was hoping there were some real good 2 or 8 Ohm subs that would pound at 250 watts each. If not then let me know.

no you don't have to go 1200x1 get a ported box because prefab boxes are tuned higher and you can really tune a sealed box but if you got a lil more airspace 2.5-3.0 cubed box ported to 32-33 it would hit the lower bass lines like you want and thump to it

Same problem with my friends Earthquake Tremors. He's sending them about 500 watts a piece. Songs with serious low end wang but for the mid range bass, it's more like thumping your finger on a wooden table. We have yet to find out the problem. And his is inside a ported box.

Problem is you just used your $97 on the wrong subs. You should have bought Phoenix Gold RSD's. Take em back.

Problem with the PHOENIX GOLD RSd12's are there single 4 ohm and I need 4 ohms. Its only going to cost me $40 to build a ported pox about 3' so ill give that a try. If that doesnt work I think I buy one 12 and try that.
