hello everyone im new to this forum

right my problem is i need more powerful music i currently have a hitatchi hi fi system very basic 25w crap! and a 5.1 set of dvd speakers the only worth while thing being the subwoofer which has one rca wire coming from it and the plug to connect it to the mains my budget is 200 pound or 250 stretching it i would like 500 watts of power as i think thats decent enough for my bedroom so far my idea is to buy a car headunit/amp/subwoofer althogh i am unsur eof weather to buy car speakers or connect the speakers from the 5.1 or buy dj speakers i know a car amp has the ability for me to connect the car subwoofer although i am wondering if i gt an rca splitter 1 female to 2 male will i then be able to connect the 5.1 dvd subwoofer and use a car subwoofer and will i then be able to connect the amp to my hi fi which can be connected to auxillary sources using left and right rca ports and if i can will i be able to connect whatever i want to my amp and it will work? can the amp be powered by being connected to my hi fi? or will i need a car battery thank you in advance for any help much appreciate it

hi i know a battery is not safe i have heard of people using a 12 volt power supply the set up is jus tintended for my bedroom and i have also hear that car speakers arwe of not good sound quality because of the right enclosueres etc i think a subwoofers enclousre would be fine so my plan right now is to purchase a car amp and subwoofer with the enclosure which will be powered by a 12v supply or which every best powers the amp and will be connected to my laptop i then plan to connect dj speakers which are better sound quality of a power of about 200wrms per speaker and by car sub being 300w rms it would be greatly appreciated if someone could tell me weather or not i can connect dj speakers to a car amp as i am aware theres many ways to connect them rca pos neg wires etc the amp will already have enough power for 400w speakers i think it will be possible?

Im not really sure why you are stuck on using car equipment indoors, there is a lot of good home audio equipment new and used floating around out there that will make your setup a lottttt easier. But to answer your question, speakers are speakers, I'm not sure what your "dj" speakers are, and what there connection is like (i'm assuming 1/4" jacks, ie you would have to splice into the cable itself making for a pain in the ***), but pretty much all car amps have +/- wire outputs per channel.
