Help! How can i get my system louder?

I have 2 Alpine Type R 12" subs and kickers SX1250.1 amp. My headunit has 4 volt pre outs and the subs are in about 5 cubic feet of air space and the box is vented. the system does about 136 dB now and i want to get at least 146 out of the truck. What can i do? open to anything. thanks guys

what kind of truck is it. I have 2 12" sx's in the back of my ranger and it doesnt get very loud unless i roll my windows down

I got a 144 with my two 12" mofo's, same enclosure and only 400-500 watts a sub. That was also in my big *** explorer and off of music before it was even tuned right. So I'd say something is wrong with your setup. Maybe build another box? Are you gains set right?

i think it would be a matter of getting better equipment if the whole truck is dynamatted. once you get up high its hard to get bigger numbers. maybe if you tune it differently you can get a few numbers.

Different box tuning actually optimized for getting loud in that truck. Add more power to that. Forget about being able to play music with the fart box.

You can put up a 136, then do a 140 and think a 144+ should be easily attainable.It's not........ Once you get to a certain level (usually upper 140's) it's hard as hell.Try breaking 150........not too easy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Don't let the meter tell you its not loud enough, those numbers don't mean shit once you hit the streets. Just keep adding power until your subs can't take anymore, then buy new subs, and repeat.
