I was fooling around in my trunk and discovered the wire from my cap was off so I connected it back and then it got really hot and popped. I smell the amonia smell but that's not my problem. I was in route to my local audio store to purchase a new one when my car cut off and now will not start. it will start for about 10 seconds then cut off and not start again. please tell me what's wrong.

well... sounds like the alt isnt charging the battery and making car shut off .... it isnt still hooked up is it ?

iwould get rid of cap n e ways lol better alt and battery should do the trick

you may have hooked a ground directly to power or something like that and ****ed things up

I don't understand what you mean Jdawg

he means you crossed the ground wire to the positive, causing a short. I would unhook all you car audio power and everything then try starting the car
