Help! Hardly any sound coming from speakers!

Ok so about a week ago I have had to start turning up the volume on my alpine HU to 35(which is max) because the sound coming out of my speakers can barely be heard. I did not change anything with my system everything is how it has been for like 1.5 years yet for some reason I am getting very little sound from my speakers with max volume on my HU. Anyone got any suggestions? I already checked all the wires to make sure that they are still in place on the amp and the back of the HU.

Something possibly "burned out" inside of it.

After 1.5 years its time for an upgrade anyways.

No unfortunately I don't have another HU to test it out on.

no I checked the gains. Thats why its so wierd nothing has changed. Do you guys think it could be a fuse somewhere?

edit: or the HU preouts?

****IT.....It is the preout. I plugged the rear preout into the rcas for the front and it is normal volume again....Does that happen alot to alpines? It is the 7995 too so I have to run an amp for it to work at all. Do any of you think they would fix it under warrenty?(I don't know how long alpines warrenty is)

edit: What causes a preout to fail?

remember its electrical..It can go at any time like a light bulb.....Hopefully you can get it fixed under warranty!

x2.... if not it's off to find a new HU.. because i don't really think there's a way to fix preouts.. please correct me if i'm wrong
