Help... got a 12w0 should I upgrade to 12w1v2?

Hi there, I currently have a 12w0 on a 1cf sealed box on my Ram QC, giving it about 200 RMS from the bridged rear 2 channels of an alpine 4 channel amp.

Would I see an improvement in SPL and SQ if I replace the 12w0 for a 12w1v2?

I would think so......

JL12WO- 125watts rms, 1-3/8" vc

JL12W1v2-150watts rms, 1-5/8" vc

I have about 150watts going to my 12w1 sealed and I think it sounds great for a low budget system.......it also goes low and gets pretty loud for what it is.

I would go for it if you want to keep the same amp and setup.

i dont think you will hear a noticable difference between the two. i say stick with what you have.

Thats what people said about going from the w3v2 to the w3v3.....they were wrong, the v3 sounded much better I hear.

the v3 doesnt have that nasty slap when it gets a note it doesnt like.

Get a more powerful mono sub amp like the alpine mrd 650, and youll notice the difference. Then think about upgrading the sub.

its a better all around sub so yes it would be better but for the price of a w1v2 just get a type r and be even more happy
