Well, although the deadener isnt here yet and wont be until monday, im gonna tear apart my explorer this weekend and get going on installing everything/ doing big 3. Just wanted to post and ask any opinions, tips, warnings, whatever, before i do something a stupid beginning installer like myself would do. I dont wanna fry anything or do anything wrong, so please let me know from your experience what i should be aware of!

i gotta wait to put the speakers in because i havent gotten my deadener yet, but im planning on doing the big 3 mod, putting in new headunit, running all power wire (if it gets here on friday like its supposed to) so i can just insert the speakers and be good to do, build the box, get the subs/amp hooked up, ect ect.

Well, give me some warning tips please! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

i guess a larger question for me would be is i am adding a second battery to the install, so all my power wire goes to the second battery i am assuming? also, how do i go about wiring a second battery into the alternator? i do not have a battery yet, and probably wont have one until next week, if that matters

Just do this.. 1/0 from Alt to the battery under your hood, and then 1/0 from + of battery under hood to + of battery in the back.

Same with the ground. - from back battery to battery under hood. Also, ground the battery under the hood to the chasis / engine block.

Always remember to remove the negative terminal on a battery when working with it.

Take your time so you don't break anything.

Remember which screw goes where..

And that's all I can think of for now, for tips lol

ttt man lol. anything really. all i really know to be safe is remove negative from battery and take the fuses out of amps before i start messing with anything. any other tips? i really dont want something that i just orderd to blow or fry lol.

You don't even have to remove the fuses from the amps. As long as the main negative battery cable is detached, you are fine.

As for fusing your power wire, it might not hurt to fuse the power wire you run between the two batteries. As close to the front battery as possible. (within 18 inches.) And, be sure to fuse the power wire to your amp(s) the same way, as close to battery as possible.

Other than that, just take your time, and good luck!
