hey all,

ignore my other post as i have changed my setup components. i am going to put a sound system into my ford escape and i was wondering if you could comment on my components that i am going to purchase. i listen to both rock and rap music, preferably rock music. anyways i have $1000 left and i want to upgrade the focal's and purchase some rear speakers. any suggestions?

head unit- alpine 9855 or the alpine DVA-9965 (does anyone know when it is going to come out?)

amp- alpine MRV-F340

speakers- focal 130A component speakers

sub- mtx (forgot model number)

dude i know what everyone is going to say,with 1k ditch the rear fill, and get one HOT set of front stage components!!

I suggest you skip that 9855, just search and find out why... It = Poo.

Oh yeah, rear fill is a waste in a truck but if you want it, more power to ya...

can you recommend a new set of frontstage components. preferably focals. are you sure i dont need a set of rear fills? also i was going to get the alpine iva-d310 with the 7' screen, but i changed my mind and would rather use the money to buy a nicer set of speakers. is this a wise choice?

9965 is the 9855 with colored biolite and the ability to play dvd's so unless you have a screen its worthless IMO....

and i havent had a single problem with my alpine 9855 and its been installed for about a month and a half so i would suggest it as a good head unit to get

thanks. i will get the 9855. also, what can i upgrade my focal 130A component speakers to. i plan on sticking with focal. also, if i do purchase new focal's will i notice a huge difference in sound quality?

for the front stage, check out the dynaudio system 240GT. you would have to make plates for them, but they are worth it. i wouldnt focus so much on the rear fill as i would on making a bomb *** front stage.
