Help Finding right SPL Sub?

I am trying to find a good 12" or 15" sub for strictly spl. I don't want to have to build a box much over 2 to 2.5 cuft. I will be powering it with a PPI DCX 1500.1 capable of 1500 watts at 1 ohm. The price range I am looking at is $250 to $350. Like I said I am not concerned with SQ with this sub because I already have 2 12s in small sealed enclosures for that.

I think an l7 would be kind of fun to play around with but like I said earlier I don't want to go over 2.5 cuft for the box because it will need to be somewhat mobile since this will only be for when I need to get my real low end fix. What will work better in this size box a 15 or a 12. I will port this box.

spl is usually done at higher freq like 40 45hz. those types of boxes dont have good low freq extension. i dont think it will really help your low end fix.
I was thinking that I would probably port the sub a little lower, say around 30hz. I am really looking for something that will drop lower than my sealed 12's since they have a tendency to drop off. I am leaning toward a 15" sx but will this perform in a 2.5 cuft ported box.

I hear the lowend of the sx sucks in many threads so for that reason I prolly wouldnt get one, but I've never got to mess with one. Can he even get one in germany for around $350??

Actually I am in Iraq right now but will be back in Germany then the states around the beginning of April but I want to be set on what I am going to get well before I get back. I doubt that I could pick one up here for $350 or at all for that matter. Hifonics and Soundstream are about the only two popular American brands that I can get in Germany readily and for decent prices. Everything else is pretty pricey.

So would an l7 be better for low end extension. If so what size box would I need for a 15". I always thought those needed a very large ported enclosure. If I were to use a sealed box would I still get low response and if so what size should that box be.
