You might look for a set of PG rsd 6.5 comps for around 90 bucks shipped on e bay and for the amp look for something in the 100-150 x 2 range

Tha PG set I posted above seems to be getting glowing reviews lately and may be a good place to start.

maybe lookfor a Kicker 2x100 or I believe some one had a used PG 200.2 on here for a good price.

RSd65cs or TS-C720PRS on a clean 2x150w rms. Would do you nicely, imo. The Alpine PDX-2.150 would be a great choice.

Awesome, to put it simply. I've auditioned them countless times now and want to get a set myself. They sound spectacular on 2x75w rms. Give them 2x100-150w rms and they will make love to your ears.

Check out this review. Keep in mind it's written by a hardcore audiophile.

i got my PG RSD's for $87, and my Kicker ZX550.2 for $230. so $317 for both. you would be fine with a ZX450.2 though. i went a lil overkill when i decided on the amp(i wanted a lil extra headroom).

I have the 720prs set on a ppi pc2100 and they sound fantastic. I do have my doors deadened and never did try them without the deadening. For the price though they sound great. I would think about a nice 4 channel for them, in case you want to go active in future. I heard they even sound better active because the crossover is the weak link in the set

I agree with you. A decent 4x60-75w rms amp and an active XO might make a heck of a difference. c_j thought so.
