I have a 02 dodge neon SXT and i haven't been able to find an alt, well i did but he wants 650 bux for a 200a @ 2000rpms and 160 @ idle. right now i'm running 1 bxi2006d and a alpine mrv-f450. or if anyone has one used that they're not using PM me plz.

first off $650 is too much for an HO alt. you should be able to get a 200A unit for around $200 to $250 less than that.

secondly, i dont know of any alts that put out 160@ idle. i guess its possible, but HIGHLY unlikely. i think hes pulling your leg.

i stand by my mean green. not sure if they make them for neons, but they run $369 plus shipping for a 220A unit (200A hot)

I have a 2005 Neon and was kinda looking for one too. Someone on the dodge forum said the PT CRUISER alternator can be used (so long as it isn't a turbo) and fits the current bracket in the Neon. I have a few on eBay I'm watching but to scared to buy one since I know nothing about cars, sigh. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

well the PT cruiser has the same engine as the neon so yes, the alt should fit just fine. but whats the point? should be rated the same.

I think dude said the Neon (not SRT, which has a higher Alt.) is 80 amps and the PT Crusier is 120 amps. That sound right?
you know whats funny? i used to work at chrylser...and i dont even remember lol.

the one on the neon is 85A (i know that). if the pt cruiser is 120, i would much rather buy a HO alt, which would give me about 80A more, instead of 35A.

How much does a HO Alt run you? I only ask because I can get a used Cruiser Alt for $50.00 shipped. (76,000 miles on it, which probably isn't good but it comes with a lifetime warranty) and I don't have a crazy set-up in my car either. Thanks for any help IgnoreMe! Have a good weekend!

Did you try excessive amperage? I just ordered mine from there, $310.

But it's 200 amps at idle, and 210-215 at 2000rpms. 200 is more than enough for me
Are you sure its 200 at idle????Thats awfully high.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

and prepare yourself to be scammed...
Leave it to you to jump in with the scam.

Dude your story is so full of holes.Dominick has sent your alt after alt.And so what if he doesn't give you a refund if you didn't have it installed professionally how does he know you didn't **** it up installing it.Cause the way you talk it sure sounds like it to me!I can see maybe one being bad, maybe, but two in a row?Come you even said yourself you used the alt then you say you never got to use the alt its back and forth and happened 4 years ago.You don't hear people on here still complaing after they've been TRUELY scammed.Get on with your life odviously he is doing something right because he is still going after your so called "shitty alt" incedent!

my story is not full of holes. if you arent smart enough to comprehend it thats not my fault...

and he has ADMITTED to sending me a DOA alt... and as said before, it was hooked up exactly as the stock was removed, and exactly as dominick had instructed...

it was a flat out scam, dominick failed toprovide me with what i paid for, and refused to refund when he realized he couldnt provide me with what was promised. you are a complete idiot if you dont understand that...
