Help: face-plate is stuck, won't release!

Hi, I have alpine 7995. The face-plate is stuck, when i press the release button (far left), the button presses down, but feels like there is no tension/pressure.

I assume the spring mechanism behind the button is broken.

Now what!?!!?! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe hold down the button so it releases and lightly pry the left side up.

okay, will try that with a flat-head screw-driver. Gently...

I had a similar problem with my HU. Turns out that the face plate was ok...It was just very snug to the dash kit and not popping out. I would use my finger to pull it out after hitting the release button.
