Hey there I've got a bunch of parts and want to go for a SQ install.

I'm shooting for a 2-sub 4-mid 2-tweeter all active setup and I'm looking for any advice I can get.

How would you configure the system, and what more would you buy or trade for?

So far I have:

promos25 (2ch x25W-4ohm, 2x50-2, 2x100-1, or 1x200-2 etc, no xover)

promos450 (4x50-4, 4x100-2, 4x200-1, 2x400-2 etc, no xover)

pc2600.2 (2x150-4, 2x300-2, 1x600-4, hi pass xover, sub xover)

pc4800.2 (4x100-4, 4x200-2, 2x400-4, hi pass xover, sub xover)

deq230

pqm210

2 jl audio 10W6V2 subs (600W rms each, dual 4ohm voice coils each)

q-bass control knob

MP3 head unit I can use for now, but it's a f-ing jensen for the love of GOD.

wires, cables, fuses etc.

I still need:

a crossover or two

sound deadener

4 mids and 2 tweets

I'm looking to spend less than $1000 more bucks.

Oh ya, I don't have the car picked out yet but I'm due to trade in so I'll probably get a 4-door SUV.

So... here's an idea to start it off.

run all active 3-way setup

promos450 bridged into the 2 subs, pumping 400W into each.

4800 running 4 mids at 4 ohms 100w each

2600 running a pair of nice tweets up front at 150w each

rest of the stuff stays on the bench.

Am I going to regret having tweets only up front?

I could sell an amp and get a 1200 W art series for the subs, worth it?

Looking forward to the ideas, THANKS!

Update,

I'm looking into buying a 21400 for the subs and selling the 450 or using it elsewhere.

I should be able to eliminate the need for an external xover this way.

I can use the 2600 for tweeters, then use the low-pass output from the 2600 along with the 4800 running in high pass mode to create a band-pass for the mids. Then I run the subs off the 21400 in low pass. Next thing I need is tweets, mids, a pack of deadener, and sub boxes.

Also I'm wondering what size unported box to use on those 10w6v2's. Manufacturer recommends .625 which I'm sure is fine but I would be interested to know if anyone here has a preferred volume.

...wondering if anyone is out there. any ideas?

I'm leaning towards buying a 21400 and running the subs in 0.69 cu ft sealed boxes.

Not sure about going all active though.

If I go with passive x overs with the 4800 then I can sell the 2600 and buy a better set of components.

I got a 21400. Running myself into serious debt here but oh well.

Planning to set up each sub as 8 ohm, then wire in parallel, and bridge the amp into the 4 ohm pair.

Lots of ways to wire them but this way each one gets it's own independent supply with identical signal.

Now I need components. Listened to the Focal 165v30 and liked them. But that was the only pair in that class at the store.

I'm thinking about getting 4 focal polyglass woofers (165V2/6v2), one for each door, then running tweeters up front only.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts. Don't be shy let'em fly.
