help decide...rl-p 15 or FI Q 15

i currently have a rl-p 12, 2 cube tuned to 28hz.great sq, not peaky..amazing lows. need more output..should i do a rl-p 15 sincs i like the rl-p 12's sound? sub MUST have amazing lows, recieving 1000 watts...i know FI is the boner right now, but I really like my rl-p's sound, just want more output same SQ

If you want the same sound just more output go with a 15 Rlp tuned a bit higher and that should give you what you want...

dont want higher tuning, i really like the rl-p's sound. its very nuetral. does the q have real good low end extension,is it peaky?

i've owned the rlp, and if you just want good sq with some wang, then its a good choice...imo btw...

but i was disappointed with the output...

just based on loyd's test and what others have to say about the output of the q, if i was in your position, i would be more then willing to risk it and buy a q...

from what i see on fi's website, the ssd is comparable to the rl-p...wattage,xmax.but alot cheaper...ssd have good low end and sq?

I think you answered your own question, if you want the same sound, more output, go for the larger version. If not the Q is a great option.

people have said that the ssd is suppose to be not as good as the q as far as sq and getting low is concern...but output should be similar to the q with lower power...

I've heard 2 12" RLP's in roughly 4cf tuned to like 30hz or so off of a nine.1, and 1 FI Q 12" off a nine in 2.5cubes, the Q hit lower and louder than both rlp's.....but i prefered the Sound of the rlp's over the Q. I say get a couple of Q 12's..

With all the questions floating around right now

RL-p - get a bit more output and know what you're getting

Q - take a total chance

If it's me, I take the smarter way of spending my money without taking chances, or find someone within a 30 or so minute drive to listen to a Q

If you want more output get the Q 15, i'm upgrading my mag to one as soon as i get my box made.
