What's up I'm new here and I got a problem with my dashboard and tailights. When I got an amp and subwoofers installed in my car my dashboard and tailights stopped working. My brakelights and oil, door, etc. lights work but when I flick the switch for my lights to come on only the headlights come on. Hopefully somebody can help me out with this thanks.

In the factory harness there is usually a couple dimmer leads that control the illumination of the factory HU, if these wires are not properly connected, or not properly tucked away (if not used) you will encounter proplems with dash and tail lights fuses blowing.

You will need to remove your HU and find the mistake in the wires.

They should have a diagram of your wiring harness to show what wire is for what.

What color are the wires and if they are disconnetted do I just connect them back or cut them or what.

Lower model HU's don't use an illumination wire in that case they are capped off with a crimp or tape.

Orange with a white stripe is the common color.

I just checked the colors for a 94 toyota and it seems that it does not have an illumination lead.

here are the colors-

12volt switched power-Gray

12 volt constant power-blue with yellow stripe

ground-black

Speakers

LF-pink+/purple-

RF-green+/blue-

LR-Black+/yellow-

RR-Red+/white-

The rear speaker wires could possible be wired to the wrong thing because of their colors.

Factory wire harness colors.

12volt switched power-Gray

LF-pink+/purple-

RF-green+/blue-

LR-Black+/yellow-

RR-Red+/white-

match these to the corresponding wire from the HU, tape anything left over off to protect them from shorting on the dash.
