Hey everyone i have a fixed base router which will cut up to 1 1/4 inch deep. I want to use this router to make the cutout for my subs that why i will have nice and neat cutouts. (I want to make it flush mount).

I dont have a Jig to use though for the router. Drawing the ciricle and just trying to follow it freehand doesnt work well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif im better off using a jigsaw..

Does anyone have any advice on how i can make a nice neat circle? (without buying a jig)

Thanks,

dam that jasper circle guide looks nice. makes me wanna buy a router.

lol swc204 he said like 2 times, about "without using a jigsaw" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Somebody on here the other day had a link to a pic of a buildup where they were using a nail and string to set center and radius for a router to cut a circle. Not exactly the preferred method but in a pinch...

I would break down and drop the coin on a Jasper circle cutting jig. I bought both sizes and have used them a lot. Makes cutting a perfect circle a snap and you can never have too many tools //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I just rigged up a piece of wood with the radius of the circle and just screw it in the middle and have at it. Works pretty good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

that would be me. worked very well. But I agree that circle jig is awesome and I'm gonna buy one.

you guys are all ahead of me.

i drilled about 40 holes in the baffle and then used a wood file to remove material out to the circle i drew.

old school.. but it got the job done.

Whenever I get my camera back, I just screwed a piece of wood I found in my garage on the bottom of the router (used flush screws so they dont hang off the bottom). Then had a hole drilled in the middle for the bit to come through and measured down the wood from the bit the radius of the circle and screwed it down at that point. Worked pretty good for what I paid. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
