Help choosing subwoofer

First of all thank you for your time, I'm going to try to explain what I currently have, and what I'm looking for.

I currently have an *Alpine MRP-M1000* (I had a link to crutchfield but it wouldn't let me post it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif )

And ****** sony xplod subs, they were a graduation present a few years ago. Needless to say, I don't like them and they need to go!

I'm definitely keeping the amp, from all that I've read it's a good amp and it's still running great. But now comes the hard decision, which subs do I want.

I have an '03 Hyundai Accent hatchback and I'm going to be building a custom sealed enclosure for whatever subs I decide to get. I'm unsure which way to face the subs though, because with my current (not so great) setup, it sounds best with them facing forward. I know most people say they sound best facing backward toward your trunk. But I was thinking maybe because I have a hatchback it's different?

Now to my subs, I want two subs anywhere between 800 and 1000 COMBINED rms that can be wired to two ohms. I'm unsure if I want 10's or 12's yet, and i'm willing to spend up to 350/400$ on the two subs. Although less money is always nice. I really want subs that are meant to be in a sealed enclosure. I want tight, precise bass; sq > spl. But, I also want to be able to feel the bass in my chest when it hits. I listen to mostly rock with bass pedal, but a little rap now and then.

These are just all my thoughts kind of thrown together, I'm sorry if any mistakes were made. I'm new to these forums, I did try the search function but didn't find enough information on my particular questions. I was looking at the kicker l3's but read some mixed reviews and I'm not sure how they would perform in a sealed enclosure. Any input is appreciated and if any more information is needed just let me know. Thank you again for your time guys!

Edit for amp name

id pass on the l3s... Alot of peeps on here like sundown, image dynamics, audioque, dayton, and a few others. I still like JL because i get KILLER deals but check out the classifieds, dont be afraid to go used.

Alright I've heard so many good things about JL Audio that I've decided to look into their subwoofers. It seems like the best fit for me would be the W3v3. It looks like they're single voice coil so I could get two at four ohms and wire them in parallel for a final impedance of 2 ohms (This is correct right xD). Has anyone heard these subs in a sealed enclosure? I'm still not sure if I'd want the 10s or 12s, I'm not worried about space so I'm leaning toward the 12s. Any input on this would be appreciated, I'm not very experienced in car audio.

If you get a used pair at a steal there a good buy, but if you have a 400 budget range you could probably find a pair of w6's if you search around. The w6's on 500 watts each will run very well. They sound pretty good, again i wouldnt buy JL new at most peoples prices. ALot of people on here think there overpriced but ive always had great results for what your looking for.

There is nothing wrong with the Kicker or JL products. However, they are very popular, advertised brands, and as such, you end up paying for that almost two-fold. That said, for everything they have, you can easily find something better in output, SQ, and build quality, at a significantly reduced price.

The Fi X series for example...

Or a couple SSA dcon

SSA Shop- SSA Dcon 10D4 Sub woofer300watt rms

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm kind of between the Fi x12's, the w3v3's and the w6's at the moment. Not sure yet but leaning toward the x12's. Would running two Fi x12's at 1000w rms be a problem? (Speakers are rated at 400w rms each) And does anyone have input on the BP power option from Fi?

Alright I'm planning on getting two Fi x12's with the BP power option. Gonna get them SVC 4 ohms so they can meet the 2 ohm requirement. Now to plan my enclosure build, sorry to ask so many questions but has anyone heard these in a sealed enclosure? The website says to have between .6 and 1.1 cubic feet but i'm unsure what will produce the best SQ.
