Help Choosing an Amp for Front Stage

Hi guys

I currently have in my front doors 2 - Eminence Beta-6A- they are 175 RMS @8Ohms

My rear doors I have a pair of Kicker Components 6.5" they are 60RMS

Im trying to run them from a Massive Audio NX4- 800RMS CEA compliant.

The amp keeps going into protect mode.

I have tried paralleling the Fronts and bridging the front ch to give 400 RMS to the pair so the 8s become 4 ohm and the amp pushed 400@4ohm to the pair. amp trips after 20 mins Running hot at volume 20 gain on half.

ive tried running each speaker to a ch by it self but of course the 8ohms not only see 100RMS at 4ohm so I belive its really gettin 50rms at 4ohm becuase the speaker is pushing still 8ohm

Confused.

Can this amp work for my situation ?

best to change speakers or amp ?

Please post sugestions of wiring or equipment.

Thanks Alot

try wiring them in series. also check your ground... bad grounds can cause amps to trip out even if all else is wired correctly. if all fails, you might want to consider a new amp

wouldnt series give me 16ohms ? my amp can only push 400RMS at 4ohms when bridged.

I know the Eminence Beta-6A are great speakers i just need to find a wiring option or amp to play them correctly. Also for this level can someone recomend a good set of tweeters.

nto sure if you tried this before but bridge the 4 channel to 2 channel and run just the doors, your amp should not go into protect unless you have bad wiring or the amp does not like the ohm it sees.

Fronts are 8 Ohm 175RMS Eminence , rear 4ohm 60RMS kicker components , I have dual citizenship guys if that helps !

initially had fronts paralell and bridged off 2ch on the amp 400RMS at 4ohm and rears have always been stereo on a ch each. but after 20 mins it gets hot an cuts off.

now i have each speaker to a ch by it self it does not sound as loud any more but doesnt cut off whats you guys best suggestion

If you parallel the fronts to 4 ohms, and bridge two channels it should work. Maybe you are running the gains too high. What is the RCA voltage of your HU?

edit: maybe your front's actually ohm out a little lower than 8 and that would put you below 4 parallel at the amp. Might want to check that also.

jco1385 you are correct they read aprox 6.3 on the DMM, so when parallel i get just below 4 ohms, i have been very careful with the gains. do you think this is why they are over heating the amp becuase they are not functioning at 4ohms when paralel.

What would be a better amp choice then ?

That is precisely why the amp gets hot then. Are those meant to be HT speakers or run as a pair? 8 ohms in car audio is not common at all. Most amps do power at 4 and below.

edit: You could find a 4 channel that will run bridged at 2 ohms. Maybe. I'm sure they're out there.

they sound loud and clear , but i may have taken some bad advice on choosing them but im stuck with them now.

currently i have them each run to a ch on the amp by them self.

amp plays 100RMS @4ohm they still sound good maybe 3db loss in volume.
