hey everyone, new to the forum here just wanted so say what's up and i need some help choosing an amp for a buddy of mine ... he has a jeep wrangler and just bought two jl 10 w0's in a custom box and he needs and amp to push them with .... looking for a relativley cheap amp so what are some recomendations ... looking under the 200 dollar range but want something to perform pretty well .. thanks for the help.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

ok what about the jbl 600.1 or the pioneer gm-x962 i'm sure the jbl over the pioneer but will it justify the 50 $ diff and also i've had no experience with the us accoustics .. heard they were pretty good for the price so what would you all recomend?? thanks for all your help

Since im new at this 2 i might be wrong with what i say but if u get a 600.1 amp thats a lot of wats for 2 10 w0's since they are only 125 watts each so 250 all together. what people have told me is ti go with the 300.1 since our subs are weak handin' subs to go with a weak amp. so from what ive heard i think they 600.1 is to much for those subs if im wrong then just tell me

im going to say that the 600.1 is to much power for them.......i'd suggest the 300.1 or look at some of the us acoustic amps......u can get them for cheap and they are a good amp....peace

We should assume it's a 4 ohm one?

I'd pick a us acoustics usx2100 from the zeb (like $130 shipped). Enough amp to easily handle those subs (just enough to blow the speakers if you're trying to overpower them), and should be able to power a component set if you decide to upgrade your frontstage later or something.

The 10W0 is a potent 10" subwoofer designed to extract maximum performance from small to moderate power levels. Highly flexible in its application, this speaker works extremely well in sealed, ported and even bandpass designs.

Nominal Diameter: 10 inches (250 mm)

Continuous Power Handling: 125 Watts

Voice Coil: 1.38" diameter, 6-layer, Kapton former

Available Configurations: 4 ohm, 8 ohm or 12 ohm (Single Voice Coil)

Xmax (one-way, linear): 0.34" (8.6 mm)

Sealed Enclosure Range: 0.50-0.90 cu.ft. (14.0-25.5 liters)

Ported Enclosure Range: 0.90-1.50 cu.ft. (25.5-42.5 liters)

VRC™ Technology: YES

yeah sorry it is 4 ohm thanks for the info .... and do you think the us acoustics will out perform the jbl or will they be about the same ... 130 shipped is sounding real good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

anyways thanks for the info very helpful

Actually, my thought on the matter is that, as far as car audio investment goes, buying a low wattage mono amp is generally a dead end, at least with a 2 channel like a strong USX amp, you can drive those speakers well, and have it with you for a while (even if you upgrade or change things later).
