Help choosing a subwoofer

Hey. I'm new to this forum, and to car audio. I'm 19 years old and about to get my first car. I'm getting a 2005 Nissan Altima. Really interested in setting up a system for it. The part I'm having the biggest trouble choosing is the subwoofer. I want a great system with great sound but I'm not really looking to have a subwoofer that's going to vibrate my whole car. Or that's going to vibrate so loud that the vibration is all you hear. Looking to get something that gives really great but subtle bass. Nothing too harsh. But not sure what could achieve that. I don't want to be too conservative and buy a subwoofer that's going to be too light and waste my money and time, but also on the other hand don't want to over do it and get one that's going to be too harsh like I said. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

That's a decent budget. I'd look at Soundqubed. https://www.soundqubed.com/

If you don't want crazy loud bass, get one of their HDS208 or HDS210. As far as the vibration, you can deaden your car to help that a lot. Make sure you put the sub in a custom ported enclosure. Don't get a prefab box. The sound like shiit
