ok just got a powerbase 15 bnib. i have 2 kickers comp 4 ohm svc hooked up to a pioneir 760 amp. the pb is a dual 4 ohm. i wired the pb paralell for a 2 ohm load. i put the 15 in my back seat of my truck. i had to run like 18g wire on it(all i had) but doubled it up. hooked the 15 to one channel of the amp(way under powered) and the 2 10s were on the other channel making a 2 ohm load? i ran it like that for about 2 min. the 15 was hitting but not like it should have because of the power going to it. so i pulled over, cut the subs off, unhooked the 10s and hooked the 15 up bridged. after about 1 min i could smell it smoking. pulled over, pulled the power fuse to the amp, dident have any tools so i just hooked up one of the 10s up bridged and continued to my friends house to a bonfire. sounded pretty good. got there, chilled , and then backed my truck over and turned the radio on and let it run for about 25-30 min. and then the sub quit. so i went and looked at it, amp had power, sub still wired in. pulled the fuse on the power to the amp again. drove home, pulled the 15 out, one of the wires on the neg i think had come off, not sure if this was when i pulled it or had been like that, smelled a liltle burned but still traveled smooth. pulled the burnt 10 out and it was so burnt that it couldent move, smelled very burnt. hooked my other 10 up on a single channel, and it sounded good. un hooked that, pulled it out of the box looked good. i hooked the 15 up again to a single channed, it dident do any thing but make a tapping noise or a thump but no real sound or move ment. does any one know what happed with all this? can any one help me out?

You are basically just ridiculous and you have no idea what you are doing.

sry that ur subs blew, I've had bad experiences with that too

Wow this has to be a joke?

I believe you must have a 2 channel Pioneer amp... if its 760 watts... Could it be a GM5200T? I think where you went wrong was when you bridged the amp to the 2-ohm load of the 15 by itself. But where you really went wrong initially was by trying to install anything yourself. Please refrain from that in the future.

The kicker comp is only rated at 125rms and you were sending it close to 400rms bridged. I wonder why it blew....... hmmm.........................

wow. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I think what they are trying to say is you should have invested more time in learning about what you were doing before doing what you did. Sounds like something went wrong and you wanted to hear music THEN AND NOW regardless of what the final outcome was.

After your first sub blew the little light in your head should have said 'Hey, maybe I should figure out WTF happened before half assing the rest of this'

Its all good though, it was a lesson and you will hopefully be more careful next time, we have all done stupid shit in the past.
