bass blockers?

is there a need for these? i have some 5.25 in my truck. won't the crossover on my amp block the lower frequencies or do i need to get some? aren't they just capacitors? if so what farad would i need?

Bass blockers are only good for use when the speakers run off the HU.

I have my front stage amped and with the HPF filter set. I run my rear speakers off the HU with bass blockers (for passangers)

That's not always the best solution. In my case it would kill the lower frequency response of my sub (to nothing) and to my components when all I want to do is block the bass to the rear speakers.
