Help building a ported box for two 12" CVX

[bloodhound50 10+ year member]

I have a trunk that is more long than tall. I want about 4ft^3 and a slot port tuned to about 35-38 HZ. Using the Re audio box calculator I an make a box but the port would have to fire up and does it matter where i place the subs in the box? like must the be adjacent to the ports 2nd wall?
