Trying to find a decent budget amplifier to power a sundown E8.

I'm putting together a system for one of my girlfriends friends, and I'm trying to do my best to keep it nice and cheap for her.

So far, the best ive been able to find (that i know will be a decent amp) is a Hifonics Txi4008 (400RMS bridged @ 4 ohms). I've used the 4008 and 6008, and both are great amps. Lowest price i've found on it is $86 shipped

If you can think of another amp for less than $86 shipped that does 400+RMS, let me know!!

note, thats what they are rated for, not what they are known to handle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
grimreaper is feeding em 600RMS a piece.
wow. wonder why they would underrate the subs that much. i hear they are good but that would hurt sales a bit i would think.

you're best bet is that hifonics for the price. not many amps are cheap enough to put out that much at 4ohms. i'm sure if the sub was 2ohms it would be easier.
yeah, thats what i was figuring. I was actually surprised at how well they do for the price.

I have a 6006 in my girlfriends car running 500RMS @ 2 ohms (its rated 600@ 4, and not 2 ohm stable), and handles it like a champ. gets warm if cranked on for a long period of time, but never talks back.

I guess the 4008 may take the cake then.

Unless you are competing in Crazy8's, there is no need to go with that much more power then ratted. They are a great little sub, but no need to push their limits when the gain from it is not much if any in the real world. So save money and find a quality 2 channel amplifier:

Cerwin Vega (if they have it):

Or heck, check ubid.

Profile HA1000 is another option, i am using a profile amp for my fronts and its working well. Rated 480rms x 1 @ 4ohms.

don't know how much it is w/shipping, and that might not be the cheapest place to get it as well.

although i agree that you should be cautious using that much power in a daily ride.

i think cadence makes some nice budget amps as well...
