Amp mounting

Hey guys,

So I got my US Amps MD-1D and when I opened it up, I was surprised to see that the bottom is clear! My question: Is it smart to mount is upside down?

Heat rises so the aluminum casing/fins will not be doing as great of a job if mounted normally. Also, the mounting flanges are positioned on the bottom of the amp so mounting upside down may prove difficult.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks

Plenty of show cars have that done, you can do it, just be sure to have many fans built in a push/pull configuration and have excellent air current flow, the amps will be fine.

fans = noise... thats lame.
As long as the amp has enough airflow to stay cool you will be okay, fans are just a very common way to cool amps when you mount them. Find a creative way to cool the inverted amp and you should not have any problems.
