I had my subwoofer and amplifier hooked up for a couple weeks. It played great. Unfortunately, the system has recently stopped working.

I'm pretty sure something went wrong after an incident in which my car didn't start. I opened the hood, and noticed that the connection to the negative battery terminal wasn't very tight. After I tightened it the car started fine, but the subwoofer didn't play anymore.

I don't shut off my CD player when I shut off my car, so I know that the battery was powering the CD player and amplifier during the 1/2 second that I had the key in the ON position. After I turned the key to the START position, power to the CD plaer cut off. I'm hoping this info is useful to anyone trying to solve my problem.

I also checked the in-line fuse and the amplifier fuses which are ok. The blue power light still turns on with the CD player which signifies that the amp still gets power, but the subwoofer doesn't play. I'm clueless of how else I can check or do something in an attempt to solve the problem. Thanks..

Check your speaker inputs on the amp with a DMM. This sounds strangely like the problem I just had, sub played, then I started the car, and no more sub. My inputs on the amp blew, Im only getting six volts on the inputs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif ......

Check your head unit.I have a Clarion head unit.It has a subwoofer on/off,in my options for setting my clock, screensaver, and all that fun stuff.Look for this, and it may help you.If your batt.was disconnected,it might have turned your sub.off.It happened to me,my amp worked, but my subs didn't,so i thought i blew my subs.Hope this helps

I have the same thing on my deck and the sub control is reset to off when the battery is disconnected. Worth a look...could be a very easy fix!
