Alright so right now I've got 2 12 inch subs hooked up to a sound stream 2 channel amp (one channel for each subs). I just bought a pioneer 4 channel amp ( I know it'll work with 2 subs and nmot just 4) but I'm wondering how I go about wiring the 2 subs to the 4 channels? Or do I not need to use all 4 channels? Is it bassically just 2 amps built into one and not all the channels need to be used? Thanks

Yeah a 4 channel for subs is a little strange and will probably be AB which means its gonna **** more juice, but to help you out, read the manual, it will say somewhere on there how to bridge the front and bridge the back, this is what you want to do, bridge the front and run a sub into it and bridge a back and run the other into it. Check the instructions to see what the minimum bridge load (resistance ohms) is, you dont want to hook it up at 2 ohms and it only work for 4 ohms and higher and spend the next 3 hours trying to figure out why it wont work

Oh alright so what your saying is my subs wont get much power from a 4 channel amp? Should I try and trade the 4 channel amp for a 2 channel amp?
If your just hooking up subs why not get a mono channel amp really no need for a 2 channel or 4 channel

Do you have any idea what the power output of your amps are? More channels does not necessarily mean more power. You'd be better off with a mono amp since they're designed for subwoofers. Most 2 & 4 channel amps are designed for full range speakers...

Trade it in for a mono class D, that will maximize your efficiency for power transfer. If you need help on how to wire two subs into one terminal there are a number of places you can go that have diagrams. What type of subs do you have and we can give you a better idea of what amp you should by
