Im kinda stuck on this. Just hooked up my xx-herc, and the amp makes a popping sound when at higher volume. It doesnt stop playing, but will make an occasional pop sound, and the gain is about 3/4 the way up. What exactly would make it pop and how would i go about fixing it?

If amp makes this noise without RCA's connected, I would suspect short in drive circuitry. Or your RCA inputs might be shorting with amps case or main ground. Check resistance between outer rings of RCA inputs and amp’s metal case. Might be easy fix... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Sounds like you could have a cold solder somewhere in the amp, or some arcing going on between the legs of some of the parts, or from the board to heatsink. Could just be your RCAs too.

well, i didnt check any of those problems, but i changed some setting on my deck from -18db to -3db, and it stopped doing it hehe so i guess i can call that a fix. now the only issue is dimming at high high volume, almost max output. Guess i might have to go get mahself a HO alt.
