HELP.. amp for 2 10" Rockford fosgate P2D4-10 subs..

Figured this was the place to be for help on these things. I've done hours of research but I still can't seem to figure out how to choose an amp according to the subwoofers. Anyways, I'm getting 2 P2D4-10 subs by Rockford Fosgate.. here are the specs..

10" subs

300W RMS (600 Max)

4 ohms

The mono, 2 channel, and 4 channel options are what screw me up. On one hand I think I should get a 2 channel but I've also seen people use mono amps, so it'll make me feel better if someone who knows what they are doing can point me in the right direction. I was thinking 300W x 2 at 4 ohms on a 2-channel amp, but thats probably wrong. If anyone has any specific brands or even amp models that they have found to be particularly good, let me know. This will do close to 700 at 1ohm. Set the gains correctly and it will be good

yeah get a 600watt rms 2channel 300watts rmsx2@2ohms or a mono 600watts rms stable at 1ohm.

im guessing I would wire it like this?

and this sub comes in 4 ohms and 2 ohms.. the deal im about to pull the trigger on (a new set on ebay) is two 4 ohms, but it shouldnt be much more $ to get 2 2-ohms. would I benefit from getting the 2-ohm subs with the mono amp or does it not matter?

got any suggestions in the same price range? probably around 300 for the amp and 2 10s. ill find the wiring and enclosures later.
