Help!! Amp cuts off?

rca's wont make your amp shut off. what sorta voltage do you have to start with, with the system on with the bass knob turned down? what does it change to when you turn the bass knob up (I hate bass knobs, never use them)

What size power wire do you have running back to the amps for power and have you done any electrical upgrades to the car yet?
Better yet, can you post some pics of the install?
i have 0 gauge everything in my sig. you would think if it was an electrical problem the sub amp would be the one to cut out. lights don't dim at all everything seem good but i'm human i could of missed something. i wont put pics up because i'm in the testing stage of this to see what sounds better and testing boxs to get the sound i want so nothing is in nice, lol just laying there cause i'm not driving it yet. once i get it where i want it everything comes out and do it nice (nice as i want it for a winter beater!

I love bass knobs i've had amps in the past without and i hate not being able to reach over and turn them up or down when need be. i'm going to get into checking over electrical 2moro when i'm done working just getting some thoughts on it before i do. just got done putting it in yesterday and tried the other amp today so just getting everything in order now.

Hey i just put a little system in my beater car. I had a fosgate 4ch in it, than i took it out and put in an alpine 4ch i got yesterday well it sounds good, turn it up and it keeps sounding good. Well turn it up and turn up the bass knob and when it hits it shuts off? turn the bass knob down and no problem. i hooked up my fosgate back up and its fine. Something loose in the amp? or is the sub amp drawing power and cutting it off? any ideas? Thanks for any help.
Your most likely drawing to much current through the amp. Its shuting itself off to protect itself from to high of voltage or possibly to protect from overheat damage.

If you have 2 different power wires ran then it wouldnt be the sub amp causing that.

Also even if you just have a splitter the sub amp wouldnt completely cut it off like that

try setting the gain 25% lower and see if it still does it. If so my last quote is your answer.
