Help! Almost stipped allen screws on JL Audio 500/1

Hi,

The allen screws for the ground and power wires on my jl audio 500/1 amp are almost to the point where I can't screw them in or out. I'd say the next two times I screw/unscrew, they will be completely stripped and stuck for good. So I was wondering if anyone knew where i can get replacement ones? I called JL audio, and they said they don't sell individual parts for their products. Please help me out, cause the wires back connected to the amp are loose now, and I can't tighten them knowing theyre going to strip completely. I'm pretty much stuck in a bad position.

Thanks in advance

I thought only AQ did people like this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Yeah Brah, a hardware store should have those. Honestly, I'd change them all. More than likely gonna happen to all of them sooner or later.

For sure, take them all out, bring them in to a big Hardware store- Beiswingers or somethign is the one around here. They should be able to match the threads for sure.

The other question is- are the screws threads stripped or the block they screw into? If its the block- you can easily get a tap set from the same hardware store- drill the old holes out a bit, then retap them with a slightly larger screw.

I had the same issue with the same amp. those screws are very easy to change out. a local ACE hardware or something will have what you need. and taking that amp apart is very easy to do (and necassary to get the old screw out).

well mine are stripped my cousin borrowed it and god knows how he did that I barely loosened them out so wanna switch them out but the dont come out all the way up so any help on how to take them out would help, thanks

I always found it funny that people thought that the screws that come with amps are these custom pieces. Can be found at any hardware store, might not be exactly the same but it won't make a difference.
