Help/Advice For A Problem

hi guys. im new to the boards... anywhoo, i drive a 2004 hyundai tiburon gtv6 and i just got a new stereo system about 3 months ago. and im starting to noctice this problem. well first off heres my setup-

alpine 9833 headunit

JL 12w7

JL High Output Box

Kicker 1200.1 Amp

2 Red Top Batteries.

anways, about 2 weeks ago i popped open my hatch and listened to my sub from outside the car and i noticed this knocking noise when i turned it up. it was a pretty loud knocking noise, and i figured out that if i press down in the red part inside the box (if you know of the h.o. box than you should know what im talking about) it goes away. well i just got a new box (for free under warranty) about an hour ago and it still doesnt sound right from outside the car. yes it still hits hard and everything when inside the car, but it sounds a little funky outside the car... any suggestions as to why this would be? is my sub blown by any chance? any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks!!!!!

so the first box just rattled, it may be the same problem with box #2...have the shop that you bought it from double check it...
