ok so i have the tools and know how to build a box, but i wanna know the way to get the best sound out of it.. i have one 12 inch jl and i need to build a truck box for it cuz i have a reg. cab s10 with bucket seats.. its goin behind the passenger seat cuz im to tall to have it behind mine.. anyone who can help with some input?

The poster gave the dimensions of his vehicle..... 1998 S10. Im sure he is not the only one that owns an S10. The more important info that is needed is the specs on the sub. JL made more than one version of a 12" sub. so a model number is a crucial bit of info.

its an old one it doesnt even say on the magnet its black with a nipple in the middle of it if that helps its 6 inches deep at the highest point on the magnet and the space is like 9 inches at the bottom and 7 inches in the middle of the seat.. keeps getting smaller as it goes up hope that helps

Since you're not even sure what sub it is, I'd definately stay with a sealed design... something around 1.25 cubes net should work well.

I say build a box as large as physically possible and reduce the volume by adding internal blocks until it sounds "right" to you, personally.
