Not if you don't game on laptops. Woots is a 17" widescreen as well. This is a 15".

I dont really like 17 inch laptops. MY buddy has a Dell 9400 17, and that things a brick. If I wanted somthing that big, id go with a dekstop. You can get a laptop like that for a couple hundred less if you dont mind going with Dell, or an off-brand. Satellites are nice though

if your reffering to the toshiba's....im on my sisters laptop right now...this thing will not burn to cd-r's for shit. cd'rw yes, cd'rs no. ****ing POS dvd burners in these supposedly (from what i read, when i was trying to fix it).

other than that the computer is definitely nice.
