my gf's dad has a rock crawler. way wicked setup. it was in off road mag in oct 04. everything is painted underneath and all. its a 94 yj. anyway, he usually trailers it to the trails, but he drove it to the rubicon last year and i rode with. it was about a 3 hour ride and it did great on gas, even with 4.56 gears in it.

3.73 in the WJ (4.7 V8 w/auto)

3.07 in the XJ (4.0 w/ 5-speed)

yea, i have 3.73's with 35"s on my truck. the programmer made a huge difference since i can change my shift points, but next year when the warrenty is up, i am going to put 4.56's in it, mainly for towing.

cause its awd. my dads porsche gets like 27-29 down the freeway. in 6th it winds like 3-4 grand

I drive a freakin 97 ford explorer sport 4.0l, shitty gas mileage, my tires need air. I'm lucky to get 5 mpg highway

no way u get that...i drive a 97 eddie bauer(4 doors, heavier than urs) AND i have a v8, and i get better mileage than that.

he has a carrera 2, actaully two of them. non-turbo. he is selling it anyway. the C4's are kind of ehh, no need for awd in those cars, unless you have th turbo.

I get about 10-8 with my 81 cadillac deville 6.0L. That thing eats gas like nothing, but thats the price i pay for the car i wanted. Just man up and get the 4 12's.

i know an old dude with a old caddy with a 500ci in it, gets great gas milage. dont even have to get on it to get that thing to move with that much motor in it.
