Theres this lady thats a friend of the wifey and her she has been told by a local shop that her heater core need replacing. They gave her a quote of $450.00. How hard is this to change? Car is a 1997 Ford Taurus. Do you go under the hood or does this have to be taken out under the dash? I have quit a bit of skills as far as working on cars but never replace a heater core on this particular model car. Hoping I can take this job and make some $$ and then buy something here from you guys:D

its in the passenger side under the dash...about 8 bolts that hold the plastic in then 4 bolts that hold the core in place..also have to get under the hood and remove the two hoses..If you are pretty good with cars you should be able to knock this out in about 2 hours...core cost about $55 at autozone
