Looking for an amp to run 1000 watts at 2 ohms cea-2006 certified obviously hard to do and a budget of $200 or less I understand to get top quality you have to pay top price but this is just for 1 15 spl oriented sub.. my concern is im stock electrical 110 amp alternator and if I run 1 ohm my amp wont be able to play long without going into protect because i play lot of bass heavy songs that are CONSTANTLY drawing large amounts of power not listening to rock and roll lol. So obviously to find an amp at 1k 1 ohm under $200 is easy but i dont want to constantly be in protect and always be worried my coil is getting hot running at 1 ohm. so should I just stick to 2 ohm or is 1 ohm really not a problem only option I have for a $2 ohm amp at 1k is $179 Kenwood amp ill link below.

I wouldn't go with a Kenwood.. Look at the ppi 1000.1 amps or see if you can buy a used one off of the classifieds. I posted a thread a week ago or so asking basically the same question and it has a ton of recommendations in it, I'd take a look at that.. I ended up buying a Sundown SAE1000d for $230 shipped that was used. My budget was originally $200. Also look into the hifonics brutus amps. I've heard they're built like a tank.

also if your going into protect mode and amp is getting hot is becasue your gains arent set right. just another typical user error. set your gains properly and you wont have issues. and make sure you have a proper ground. and are you sure your current amp is even labeled 1 ohm stable?
