So i went to bestbuy to buy a cd and i hear this sub clipping like shit and i find out it's those retarded 2 Dual brand bandpass subs in that type of box, the bestbuy tech dude who was next to the kids i don't know how he could keep such a straight face hearin how shitty those sounded, to me they sounded like gaping farts then i went up to the amp it was playin and maxed the gain on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif then put a song on and put it on "maximum volume" button thing and it sounded like shit still! the 2 sony's next to em sounded better then those DUlal pieces of shit.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

that'd be awesome if the subs blew out right in front of those kids. ahahahhaha.
i wanted to max the gain on that huge RF 2 channel amp that was like 800 watts on those pieces of shit and let hte smoke out of em then kindly walk away:up2somet:

Thats Best Buy for you
THe tech guy also said they had an amp available that wouldn't ever clip, is he full of shit on that statement? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

lol last time i went i asked the guy to listen to some subs, so he turns up some power acoustik's ALL the way up, when i try to tell him hes completly destroying the subwoofers (there wanging hardcore + hear them bottoming out + sounds like crap) and hes like nah man, thats just how loud they are!

i guess when you actually buy the stuff and get a warrenty it dosent matter how much you abuse the equipment because you can simply return it!

There are amps that will do that, but its just because its self limiting. Or maybe i'm thinking of headunits.

The best buy guy probably doesn't know nearly as much about car audio as you cause its just his job. He'll probably just learn as little as he has to. I don't blame him, people should learn on their own anyway and not from some tech guy.

My bud works at BB (not audio) but he's friends with all of them. The only amp I can think of that has an anti-clip feature on it is the Infinity amplifiers, specifically the 4 channel (111 RMS x 4), and it has a clip indicator. It actually works real well too.

My bud had a set of 12" Kenwoods he wanted to kill in order to get the Perfects. We turned the amp up on them and just watched that clip meter light up. Like I said, I played with it because he wanted to kill the subs (which, they never died amazingly, even with 100RMS more to each sub then rated, and gains wayyyyy too high) and the indicator is fairly sensitive to clipping, I was impressed.

the tech guy should obviously know when a sub is bottoming out instead of continue to play it and have the whole store hear gaping fart sounds from da subs.

Maybe his manager told him to turn the subs up every chance he got to try and make a sell.

If i worked at best buy, id do shit like that too. Some kids don't know and will just buy whatever sounds louder.
