Headunits with seperate sub output

I'm looking for a headunit which I can control the subwoofer volume without hopping in the trunk. Does "Sub pre out" mean it has the sub volume controle, or does that just mean there is a jack in the back for the sub, but I will still need to adjust the volume from the trunk? The headunits I'm looking at are around 250, have a usb/mini sd, and have a 4 or so inch screen for dvd's.

Would these have sub control from the headunit? If not could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!!

if it has a sub out, all that is is an output for your aub amplifier that is non-faded. so no matter if you fade front,back,left,right the sub will stay on. unlike your other pre-outs such as your front or rear. you wont be able to control the volume of just the sub to make that louder or quieter, just the volume of the whole speakers setups

Unless of course, the HU has a sub out control, which many have.
