Headunit Mono Subwoofer Output Question

Hello,

My headunit has RCA outputs for Front and Rear and a Mono (Single Plug) for Subwoofer.

I know I need a Y-Splitter if I wanted to hook it up.

Headunit is going to a 4Ch Rockford 600x4 and the Subwoofer Amp is a Rockford 1000x2

Question is would the Mono subwoofer out be okay or should I slave the 1000x2 off the 600x4 for the RCA Signal would it make a difference either way?

Thank you

It's a Volvo factory amp, so there's a custom wire harness between the head and amp.
